Branding: Paper Tie Affair
The updated branding is finally live! Wow, is it hard to design for yourself. I don’t think anything can be harder than that. When I first launched this website and shop in early 2014, I feel I kind of rushed in to things, and just made some quick logos and a site to get things going. I soon realized (at least I felt) that I didn’t really have a strong branding. My pieces just didn’t feel connected to one another. That’s why I decided to take a step back and rework some details.
I kept the main logo the same, because it’s very “me”. My main changes were the sub-mark and colors. Those two things I just wasn’t happy with prior, so spiced them up a tad. So basically, I kept some of the original brand items, but also added in some fun typography flair, a rustic modern vibe, and more of a variety on papers and colors – to make, what I believe is, a more refined Paper Tie Affair.
While my website, and Etsy shop are still not final (they never are when you are a designer!!) I am definitely proud of where they are today. As you might notice on my website, I now have a link for my folio/design – I’m adding design services (logos, web design, etc) to Paper Tie Affair. I was keeping my shop and freelance design separate – why? I have no clue – but now they will be within the same “company”. Eventually, my portfolio of select client work will be added to the site, (for now you can view my personal design portfolio here), and I’ll also be adding design services to my Etsy storefront.
I’m so happy with my branding, and think it will better serve my clients and customers, hope you enjoy!
